New Year's Eve in Prague

People from all over the world, travel to celebrate New Year's Eve in beautiful Prague.

Because NYE is the biggest party night of the year, it should be planned ahead. Restaurants, pubs and clubs require advance bookings and that's why I decided to write a post already. Sit back, relax, read the post and make sure you discover what is happening to celebrate the best night ever!

Where to watch fireworks:

The most popular areas at midnight are the Charles bridge, Old Town Square and Wenceslas Square. The wall of the Kampa park (the grassed area) provides a great place to see the fireworks. Just as a spot on the Manes Bridge which connects the city center with Mala Strana.

Prague is a little unusual: the main official fireworks display be around 5/6 PM on the 1st of January. Mostly they use Letna Park as the launching site (or the barges on the riverside) so the best place to stand is the Charles Bridge/Manes Bridge or Letna Park on the opposite of Hotel Intercontinental either up on the road on on the riverside quay where you’ll get uninterrupted views.

How to reach your destination?

Metro travel will be free between 00:00 and 01:00 when the system shuts down. After 01:00 the night tram routes are the only public transport available in Prague. Depending on the line services range between every 15-30 minutes.

Did you say party?!

Keep in mind that it’s better to get a ticket for a party before hand or sign up for an organized pub crawl because otherwise you have to pay a lot of money to get in pubs/clubs!
