The pretty fall colours in Prague slowly turn into a winterwonderland and the first Christmas markets already opened: I am excited! Are you?

First of all, both Manifesto food Markets (my favorite food markets in Prague) transformed into christmas markets last Wednesday (20.11). You will find lights, Christmas trees, and festive food & drink along with some holiday shopping from local retailers. Do not forget to book heated transparent “igloos” (via GoOut) for you and your friends!

Christmas markets in Prague are open every day until 06.01.20 including on Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and New Year's Day.

Where can you find them now?

Prague Castle with 70 stalls. Every day 09:00-18:00 and in weekends 09:00-19:00

Havel’s Christmas Market from 07:00 - 19:00

Náměstí Míru Christmas Market (Vinohrady): open every day from 10:00 - 19:00 until the 24 of December and has 60 stalls.

Starting from the 30th of November:

  • Wenceslas square and Old Town square (main markets) daily from 10:00 - 22:00 with a beautiful huge tree in front of the Church of Tyn!

  • Náměstí Republiky Christmas Market (smaller and usually cheaper) 10:00 - 22:00.

  • Kampa Island Christmas Market, for hot chocolate every day with a view over the Vlatva river.

  • Tylovo Náměstí Christmas Market : the smallest Chrismas market in Prague, a recommender if you're not into big crowds.

  • Jiřího z Poděbrad Christmas Market (Vinohrady): a farmers markt during the year and now transformedfor the holiday season.

  • Anděl Christmas Market open until the 25th of December.

  • Výstavište Holešovice: a little outside the city center (Prague 7) but big and only 25 CZK entrance fee which is only 1 EUR! If you want to experience Christmas like a local go here. It includes markets, Christmas workshops, live music, and more. If you visit Prague in December, you don't want to miss out on these markets, the fairy tale atmosphere and winter festivities.

In my next post I will write about the food en drinks on the Chrismas market, but first I will go and get my Christmas tree!
