February became one of my favorite months in Barcelona.

The city is quiet; sightseeing becomes a lot easier without long queue’s. And besides that: you can easily go to the restaurant you love without making a reservation. The sun is out every day (it almost never rains) and the temperature is around 18 degrees. Can you imagine this weather but then with enough available terras spots for a perfect afternoon with friends!?

Well… mostly available. During the holidays and weekends, it can be very busy and almost impossible to find a hotspot in the sun. Every weekend it is an unsuccessful story: trying to a drink coffee at one of the beach terraces in front of our house without having to wait in line.

But: don’t worry. Here are some sunny terraces that are not located at the busy beach :

District ‘El Raval’:

  • Bar Lobo  for lunch & drinks. Sun is out there until 14:30.

  • Terracccita (the restaurant of CCCB), they have amazing nacho’s and patatas bravas! Not that expensive too and sun until 16:30!

  • Bar Iposa, cosy and sun until 16:00.Rambla del Raval: most bars and restaurants in this street are sunny all day.

  • Restaurant Llop has sun during breakfast (until 12:00) and is pretty from the inside as well. A centrol location behind the famous Ramblas.

  • Caleuche, for coffee with a view on the oldest church of Barcelona ‘Sant Pau del Camp’ with sun until 14:30.

Discrict ‘Barceloneta’:

  • El Guindilla, a restaurant in front of the fresh market in Barceloneta. There is sun until 17:00 in the afternoon. Fun fact: they serve coffee for 1,- only if you come before 12:00 (for al the early birds). A good spot for big groups as well.

  • Carabela cafe, famous for their nacho’s and specialty beers. A nice terras to go to with a group of friends because of their big and colourful tables. Sun is out there until 17:00.

  • Rooftop of the Catalunya History museum, a bit pricy but worth the view and sun hours because it’s there until sunset! During weekends there is a DJ playing.

Disctrict ‘Gotic’:

Hotel Colon, pricy but with a beautiful view at the Cathedral of Barcelona. Romantic tip for a date!

District ‘El Born’:

  • Lulu, organic products and good coffee (instagram worthy). Sun only in the morning until approximately 13:00. If there are no seats available, you can also go to Corner cafe which is next door.

  • Bar Bodega Flassaders 1956, a cosy hidden terras in the middle of El Born. Locals only and sun all day!

District ‘Eixample’:

Granja Petitbo, with an amazing lunch and dinner menu. One of the best spots in Eixample and close to the Sagrada Familia. They have a big terrace with sun until 16:00.

District ‘Gracia’:

All the squares like:

  • Plaza Vila de Gracia (Nabucco Tiramisu for sandwiches)

  • Plaza del Sol (Sol Soler for tapas)

  • Plaza Diamant. Sun guaranteed!

Have fun and enjoy!
