Mercat de la Boqueria

Even though de Ramblas is very touristic, the surrounding areas have much to offer.

At the Ramblas, Mercat de la Boqueria is located.  This is a large public market and one of the city’s foremost tourist landmarks. The market has a very diverse selection of goods. You should definitely try one of the fresh fruit juices and buy some sugar peanuts and pistachios.

After strolling, you can enjoy a drink Plaça Reial, meaning “Royal Plaza”.

A square in the  Barri Gotic of Barcelona. On the plaza are a large number of restaurants and some of the city’s most famous nightclubs including Sidecar, Jamboree and Karma. It is also known for its many outdoor venues and is a popular meeting place during the summer and the annual La Mercè festival in September, when open-air concerts take place.
