Every district in Barcelona has its own beauty. Whenever you are interested in luxury, art and culture, a visit to the district Eixample is a must.

L’Eixample (meaning: extension), is designed by the catalan architect ‘Ildefons Cerda’ because the old city of Barcelona (Ciutat vella) was overcrowded. The district shows Catalan modernism, due to the famous buildings of Gaudi which are situated here: the Sagrada Familia, Casa Batllo and Casa Mila.
If you are in for a nice walk, take the bus or metro to the station ‘Passeig de Gracia.’ This is the most expensive shopping street in Barcelona. In this street, Casa Batllo is located. Try to avoid the busy hours and go early or later in the afternoon. From this area, you can walk all the way to the Sagrada Familia in about 30 minutes.
What else should you try out?
