Whenever you are going to Barcelona, visiting the district Barceloneta is a must. The typical Spanish streets are colourful and cosy.

Our house is located next to the beach, which makes sure we can cycle to work via the boulevard with a beautiful view.

There are many fish restaurants in this area, as well as small supermarkets. Tip: if you want to visit a cafe with less touristic places, go into the side streets. The Mercat Barceloneta is the fresh market where all locals do their groceries and no one speaks English, perfect to practice your Spanish!

A few places worth the visit are:

Drinks:

  • The Xampanyeria (Carrer de la Reina Cristina, 7) – FAV!

  • Bar Mr. RobinsonĀ (Pla de Palau, 16)Ā The rooftop of the Catalunya history museum with a DJĀ (PlaƧa de Pau Vila, 3) – FAV!

  • Bar Leo, the oldest bar of Barceloneta betweenĀ  locals (Carrer de Sant Carles, 34)Ā

  • Vista CoronaĀ with the best lounge terraceĀ (Carrer de l’Escar, 16)Ā

Coffee & Luch:

  • La Roseta for coffee, sister of owner

  • La Cala (Carrer de Meer, 37)Ā

  • La Cala for lunch and coffeeĀ (Carrer de l’Escar, 18) – FAV!

  • Bar Limon, great brunch (Placa Pau Vila, 13)

  • Surf House Barcelona, after a spend of 15,- you have acces to do SUP (stand up paddeling) with no other costs included (Carrer de l’Almirall Aixada, 22) – FAV!

  • FOCĀ for good sandwiches (Passeig de Joan de Borbó, 66)Ā

  • Buenas Migas at the beach, try their tuna sandwich and cinnamon bun

Quality time:

Metro stop: Barceloneta (yellow L4).

Recommendable because:Ā

The beach, a beautiful boulevard, the best fish tapas, many museums (like the Musea d’Historia de Catalunya)

Tip: if you are not tired yet, walk towardsĀ La Xampanyeria for drinks and bites (the jambon & questo are amazing). It is typically Spanish and undiscovered by tourists. The drinks are online 1/2 euro’s per glass. One of my favorite places!
